We had the pleasure of working with Tana Materi and Jamie Porter on the sale of our Insurance Agency. Tana was very thorough and professional with our legal review. She brought to our attention many aspects that we had not considered. The team was very responsive in bringing us to a successful and satisfying close to our transaction. On a personal level, Tana was always pleasant, cheerful and very easy to work with. We would not hesitate to recommend Tana and her team. Brian Gurry & Joe Kenny

I can’t say enough good things about Lucinda Luke at Carney Badley Spellman, P.S. From start to finish, she was incredibly helpful, professional, and a pleasure to work with. She delivered excellent results and made a potentially stressful situation feel smooth and manageable. Lucinda was always quick to respond, kept us consistently in the loop, and explained things clearly so we always knew what to expect. Her attention to detail and steady guidance truly made a difference in the outcome. I also want to recognize her assistant, Alicia, who was fantastic — responsive, organized, and very supportive throughout the process. I would absolutely recommend Lucinda to anyone looking for strong, effective legal representation.

Attorney Chris Thayer (& Jamie from this office) were a God send in my situation. I have a real estate sale situation that I had a hard time finding local representation for. The reason was because at face value, it probably didn't look like a favorable case to take. But, Mr. Thayer provided me a consultation while I was trying to find my bearings. I can't thank them enough for the wisdom and time they invested in helping me. He provided me with lots of perspectives and was up front in explaining that if litigation is the outcome, we incur the costs of him traveling the 4.5 hours to be present (we are in Eastern WA). I was prepared to retain him this week solely based on the consultation and guidance up to this point. But, God had other plans. I was able to finally get in front of a local attorney who is going to take our case. The ONLY reason I didn't pursue retaining Mr. Thayer was due to logistics & geography. So, although I don't have firsthand experience being a paid client, the kindness and response he provided outside of that fee was unmatched and has been a light in a very gloomy situation. Thank you Mr. Thayer and Jamie. I hope the kindness you extended to me is returned to you 10-fold!

I recently worked with the team at Carney Badley Spellman on a complex business transaction and was extremely impressed. Susan and Tana led the deal with skill and professionalism, supported by a great team including Jerad and Parker. Their expertise in M&A was clear from day one. They were incredibly responsive and committed—often working late nights and weekends to make sure we hit our closing deadline. It was clear they genuinely cared about the outcome and were fully invested in protecting my interests. I’d highly recommend them to anyone looking for top-notch M&A attorneys.

Our experience with Tana and Jared was excellent. This was the second time we sold a business and I so wish I had them helping us the first time around! After our initial meeting with Tana, we primarily worked with Jared. His communication, knowledge and negotiations with the buyer's legal team kept all moving in a positive direction. Jared and Chloe helped simplify the overwhelming amount of paperwork to meet the deadline for the acquisition. Also, I appreciate that I felt they treated our small business the same as if we were a large corporation and that meant so much to me. Thank you again to Jared, Tana and Chloe! Steve and Linda
