After being assaulted, I was stunned that my attacker had the audacity to file a retaliatory peace order against me. I had no idea how low the burden of proof was in Maryland, nor how the courts pressure parties to consent to a peace order rather than contest it. A judge lectured me about courtesy because I wanted to challenge it, and his bailiff followed me out of the chamber to advise me that I should consider consenting regardless of whether I had a valid case. If I hadn't read Marc Emden's e-book, I might have allowed them to talk me into accepting a damaging outcome. Thankfully, I knew the implications of consenting to a peace order, and after speaking with Marc, I felt justified in pushing forward with my case. He connected me with his trial partner, the excellent Tom Witkop, and I was able to have the peace order dismissed and get on with my life after such a disruptive event. I'm grateful for Marc's expertise and thoughtfulness in guiding me through my case. If you are on the receiving end of a malicious peace order, I cannot recommend Marc Emden strongly enough.

Without getting into too much personal detail, I reached out to Marc for a consultation on a peace order (we were requesting one).
